The President will lunch with journalists
SANTO DOMINGO. Because today is the Day of the Journalist, President Leonel Fernandez will offer a luncheon to the reporters that cover the news at the Presidential Palace.
In a message to the journalists, President Leonel Fernandez said: "Our society enjoys an environment of precious freedom and respect for the practice of journalism and the right to information, which encourages us and stimulates us to keep working for the strengthening of democracy".
The Chief of State said that the practice of journalism by the majority of the Dominican reporters is motivated by a desire to dig out and publish information that is true. He said that the practice of journalism is indispensible in and open and pluralist society such as the Dominican society that aspires to fully develop. The luncheon will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Green Room of the Presidential Palace.
